Pinned topic ODBC 32 bits client against 64 bits db2 exp-c? is it possible?

‏2014-02-27T23:07:07Z |

Hi,

Just installed db2 expc on linux redhat 6.4 64 bits :) I also created a database and some tables on it, by using "db2" directly.

Now, I need some 32bits client app (Netcool ODBC gateway) to connect to it.

I read on this forum that the ODBC lib are included on db2, but I guess they are 64 bits as the server.

So, I guess I need to install the 32 bits libs, right?

Also, default port of db2 ir 50000, but nothing is listening on any port like that.

[netcool@rhel6 etc]$ netstat -na | grep LISTEN | grep 50
unix  2      [ ACC ]     STREAM     LISTENING     15015  /tmp/.esd-500/socket
unix  2      [ ACC ]     STREAM     LISTENING     15018  /home/netcool/.pulse/1e8d23e90a0f54268119752a0000003f-runtime/native
unix  2      [ ACC ]     STREAM     LISTENING     16504  /tmp/orbit-netcool/linc-b50-0-645202ef30e4d
unix  2      [ ACC ]     STREAM     LISTENING     11503  private/proxymap
unix  2      [ ACC ]     STREAM     LISTENING     11507  private/proxywrite
[netcool@rhel6 etc]$

So, question 2, who can I tell which port is db2 listening?

I'm newbie to db2, don't know the admin tools, etc. Please bear with me on this :(

Thanks a lot,
