Pinned topic EGL RUI Overloaded Functions?

‏2013-08-29T20:36:44Z | egl rui

I am experiencing an error in RUI (JavaScript) where overloaded functions are not compatible with JavaScript generation. Hopefully this is not just my misunderstanding but overloaded functions seem to be OK in Java-based parts, such as services. For my scenario, we need overloaded functions in a Library part which will be referenced by a RUI, so the library part will be generated to JavaScript.

The IBM documentation on EGL functions does not mention anything about compatibility issues for JavaScript and overloaded functions. Is this a bug? Should overloaded functions be possible in a JavaScript-based part? I will gladly put in a PMR if anyone can confirm that overloaded functions should be possible in RUI.

The topic is described here: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/rbdhelp/v8r5m0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.egl.pg.doc%2Ftopics%2Fpegl_core_function_cpt.html

RUI Generation error message: IWN.VAL.4429.e 29/0 Two functions cannot share the same name in target system JAVASCRIPT. Multiple functions with name test found.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
