Pinned topic configuring two gateways thru a single IIS(webserver) is it possible?

‏2013-12-20T21:07:47Z |

Here's the situtation ...

1. i have 2 gateway servers, 2 app servers, and 2 cm servers in a distributed cognos environment.

2. 2 gateways are giving me two urls.

3. now can i configure both the gateway urls thru the IIS (in one of the gateways) in such a way that it'll give me a single url to login? and will it distribute the incoming requests equally to both the gateways?

Does anyone have any steps to implement this?

    Hi,

Using a single url to access different gateways on one machine does not make much sense to me. Why would you want to do that? Load balacing and failover always takes into consideration an environment in which you have at least two machines. In your case, if IIS would fail, you would not be able to access any of the gateways. Furthermore, I am not aware of any way to implement this on one machine. URL redirection would not work as this will direct you to one particular gateway.

    Regards,
