Pinned topic compile egl cobol very large problem

‏2013-06-04T17:09:34Z |

hello

I have problems compiling  a very large EGL Cobol program with RBD 8.5 on a iSeries server machine

It has 150,000 lines of code

Is there any way to config the iseries and or rbd to compile this cobol?

thank you

    Hi,

    Check the build option, if:

    CommentLevel = 0

    statementTrace = NO

    some others parameters that may contribute to the increased cobol source.

    Regards,

    Hsieh

      The following things can also contribute to the compile not completing:

      - COBOL Compile options used (especially optimization)

      - What version of i5/OS you are using.

      - Other build options like:

              - SpacesZero (no produces less code, but may be needed if used before)

              - CheckIndeces (can be set to no if migrating from VAGen)

              - CheckOverflow (no produces less code, but may be needed for proper overflow checking)
