Pinned topic DS 3512 - RDAC - Should we enable it?

‏2014-02-17T11:11:30Z |
Hi,

after read the document from Citix (link below) does anyone KNOWN if the model DS3512 requires the 'RDAC'?

Multipathing Overview for XenServer

"Redundant Disk Array Controller (RDAC) Configuration
RDAC configuration is required by many storage vendors. This particular configuration is related to IBM DS4xxx, however you can try it on other storage where RDAC is required."

The DS3512 uses RDAC for multipathing, yes. So you should enable that on the Citrix server if you have a dual controller DS3512.

If you have a single controller DS3512, its still a good idea to have, in case you add the second controller later. Or if you have 2 fabrics you access that single controller through, so you still have multiple paths to it.

      Hi Anders,

tks for quick reply. Yes, we have DS3512 with 02 controllers (with iSCSI daughters each one). As soon we receive the QuadPort Giga adapter, i´ll set my hosts to use RDAC according Citrix Article.
