Pinned topic Migrating Server that has SAN Boot Lun to another Frame

‏2013-04-05T14:53:14Z |
Current server is setup as a standalone server and we will be moving it onto a Server with Vio setup with LPM

I plan to umount the file systems (not rootvg's) then exportvg the volume groups
I plan on just having the Vdisks remapped to the new Frame (wwpn's) then bring up the new LPAR

I figure I would need to come up in SMS mode to find the SAN Boot disk to be able to boot up

Is this correct or am I missing something?

Thanks

Jeff

IBM gave me this link. It looks like Standalone Server migration with SAN Boot to Virtual Server is not supported.

The link they gave has all the methods they support for migration
