Pinned topic Handling or avoiding javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException

‏2013-03-28T06:53:35Z |
I'm using websphere portal, myFaces 1.2 with java.

Here is my problem:

I created a view button with <h:commandLink> with "target=_blank" and it has an action that calls a Servlet which creates a pdf file with a list that I call from session. When I push the button a new page opens, my pdf file is created with the list that I want, so everything seems ok. But the page that contains the button isn't useful anymore. When I close the pdf viewing page, I can't use the first page. The links, buttons or actions in the page are all useless. When I push any of them, it goes back without doing nothing. MAny times I tried it never gave an error or threw an exception. Rarely it gives "javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException". I tried many of approaches that I searched on the web but couldn't find anything useful for this issue.

Any help is appriciated. Have a nice day.
