Pinned topic Standard PP size for rootvg?

‏2013-03-25T11:04:42Z |
Hi,

Is there a standard PP size for rootvg? I currently have 32MB as my standard, but somewhere deep inside my heart, intution says 'that should be larger'? But I need proofs before I can convince my manager and get this standardized!!

Thanks!

For standard (and big) volume groups, the PP size is calculated to be the value which allows to handle 1016 physical partition per physical volume, so the value may actually vary from one system to another, regarding the size of the first PV used to create the volume group it belongs to.
