Hi to all,
I've installed DB2 10.1 express on a windows machine and currently I'm doing some test. Since we're using Db2 for i in production, I'd like to know
if it's possibile to catalogue remote Db2 for i so that I can use a full qualified name in the form REMOTEAS400.SCHEMA_X.TABLE_A to access
a remote table on Db2 for i from within an SQL Stored deployed on DB2 LUW instance.... and, if it's possible, how can achive that.
I know that Control Center is not available any more, so I'm using Data Studio to administrate my DB2 LUW instance... but i really need some documentation.
Can you help me ?

Re: DB2 LUW 10.1 Express and connection to Db2 for i.2013-03-20T15:03:05Z in response to Mauri_ClaudioDB2 Express or Express-C? These are different editions.
What you need to access data in another DB2 database is called federation (http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v10r1/topic/com.ibm.swg.im.iis.db.prod.fed.nav.doc/dochome/iiypfnav_dochome.html).
DB2 Express-C does not support federation; DB2 Express does.
Additionally, to access DB2 z/OS and DB2 i data sources you will need DB2 Connect, which is a separate product. (http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v10r1/topic/com.ibm.db2.luw.qb.dbconn.doc/doc/r0059046.html)
