Pinned topic ITIM 5.1: Upgrading WebSphere 6.1 to 7.0
I installed WAS 7.0 in a different directory than WAS 6.1 and migrated the ITIM profile.
ITIM runs fine from the WAS 7.0 but when I tried to apply ITIM Fixpack, fixpack is applied to the WAS 6.1 profile.
I have changed references to the WAS installation path in .lax files located in itim/bin directory but that doesn't fix this issue.
Where else should I change the new installation path? Or is upgrading this way possible anyways?

I did this once for an upgrade and it worked fine.
So - I would just uninstall the WAS 6.1...

I was trying to follow migration guide where WAS 7.0 is installed alongside with 6.1 so you can verify that the migration is successful,
but it seems that ITIM application doesn't like this way at all.

Is it possible for you to let me know how we need to start up with the upgrade of WAS 6.1 o WAS 7.0. I have ITIM running on WAS 6.1 on windows, along with other applications. I need to upgrade WAS(only) to V7.
Any help would be highly useful.

I have checked the documentation, well, there is documented migration, on http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v2r1/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.itim.doc%2Fims510_install139.htm .
It looks similar to the ITIM version migration....

Try the manual method of installing fix packs
then re-start the WAS services
