Pinned topic Error running productInfo version/featureInfo in WDT

‏2013-03-15T21:59:37Z |
Hi,

Upon Eclipse's startup I can see the following exception twice (one for version and another for featureInfo) in the Error Log view. Can I get rid of it somehow?

I've just checked that out and am on the latest versions of Eclipse IDE (Juno Service Release 2, Build id: 20130116-1801), WebSphere Tools - Liberty Profile (9.0.0.v20130228_1625), WebSphere Server Liberty Profile (1.0.101.v20130227_1850) and WLP (wlp-1.0.1.20130114-1801).

java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException: Process did not complete and had to be terminated at com.ibm.ws.st.core.internal.WebSphereRuntime.waitForProcess(WebSphereRuntime.java:764) at com.ibm.ws.st.core.internal.WebSphereRuntime.getProductInfo(WebSphereRuntime.java:1418) at com.ibm.ws.st.core.internal.WebSphereRuntimeProductInfoCacheUtil.executeProductInfo(WebSphereRuntimeProductInfoCacheUtil.java:137) at com.ibm.ws.st.core.internal.WebSphereRuntimeProductInfoCacheUtil.getProductVersionInfo(WebSphereRuntimeProductInfoCacheUtil.java:27) at com.ibm.ws.st.core.internal.WebSphereRuntimeProductInfoCacheUtil.getCombinedProductKey(WebSphereRuntimeProductInfoCacheUtil.java:36) at com.ibm.ws.st.core.internal.WebSphereRuntimeProductInfoCacheUtil.getChangedProductInfo(WebSphereRuntimeProductInfoCacheUtil.java:120) at com.ibm.ws.st.core.internal.Activator$3.run(Activator.java:255) at org.eclipse.core.internal.jobs.Worker.run(Worker.java:53)

It happens for the configuration:

eclipse.buildId=M20130204-1200 java.version=1.7.0_17 java.vendor=Oracle Corporation BootLoader constants: OS=macosx, ARCH=x86_64, WS=cocoa, NL=en_US Framework arguments:  -product org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product -keyring /Users/jacek/.eclipse_keyring -showlocation Command-line arguments:  -os macosx -ws cocoa -arch x86_64 -product org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product -keyring /Users/jacek/.eclipse_keyring -showlocation

    Hi Jacek,

    Do you have 2 Liberty Profile runtime environments defined in your workspace? Would you mind to remove them one by one then add them back one by one and see if you still see this problem? When you saw the problem, did you notice that your machine was slow, for example, your hard drive kept swapping?

    Thanks,

    Jason

      Hi,

      One WLP in the workspace. See attached two screenshots of the workbench and Server Runtime Environments.

      Also when I switched to another workspace, another error showed up.

      eclipse.buildId=M20130204-1200 java.version=1.6.0_43 java.vendor=Apple Inc. BootLoader constants: OS=macosx, ARCH=x86_64, WS=cocoa, NL=en_US Framework arguments: -product org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product -product org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product -keyring /Users/jacek/.eclipse_keyring -showlocation Command-line arguments: -os macosx -ws cocoa -arch x86_64 -product org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product -data /Users/jacek/Documents/eclipse-workspace-wiki-libertyprofile -product org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product -keyring /Users/jacek/.eclipse_keyring -showlocation Error Mon Mar 18 21:29:48 CET 2013 Referenced part does not exist yet: com.ibm.etools.ui.navigator.SDExplorer.

      Could it be that I ran Eclipse with Java 6?

      I ensured I worked with Java 7 (jdk1.7.0_17.jdk).

      The error was gone.

      I defined a server instance in the Servers view. Another Eclipse restart and the following error showed up.

      eclipse.buildId=M20130204-1200 java.version=1.7.0_17 java.vendor=Oracle Corporation BootLoader constants: OS=macosx, ARCH=x86_64, WS=cocoa, NL=en_US Framework arguments:  -product org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product -keyring /Users/jacek/.eclipse_keyring -showlocation Command-line arguments:  -os macosx -ws cocoa -arch x86_64 -product org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product -keyring /Users/jacek/.eclipse_keyring -showlocation   Error Mon Mar 18 22:02:48 CET 2013 Error during com.ibm.ut.common start work.   java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 1 at com.ibm.ut.help.common.prefs.ICPreferences.prefsToICs(ICPreferences.java:254) at com.ibm.ut.help.common.prefs.ICPreferences.getICs(ICPreferences.java:98) at com.ibm.ut.help.common.connector.PlatformConnector.getWARBaseURL(PlatformConnector.java:187) at com.ibm.ut.help.common.connector.PlatformConnector.sendToWAR(PlatformConnector.java:151) at com.ibm.ut.help.common.connector.PlatformConnector.send(PlatformConnector.java:139) at com.ibm.ut.help.common.connector.PlatformConnector.checkQueue(PlatformConnector.java:52) at com.ibm.ut.help.common.Activator$1.run(Activator.java:58)

      I developed and deployed a simple web application. Upon its run, the following errors showed up in the Error view. It happened only the very first time after I right-clicked a servlet from the web app to fire up Run As > Run on Server.

      Restarted Eclipse again. No initial error with productInfo version/featureInfo. It's gone. Thanks for your help.

      Hi,

      I happened to catch the productInfo version/featureInfo again! It showed up in the Error view once I installed Scala IDE from http://scala-ide.org/download/milestone.html.
