I'm trying to create a data source in WAS7 using MS SQL server db. I have tried to configure a jdbc provider using sqljdbc_4.0. I renamed the classpath value to sqljdbc4.jar. I created the data source. But the connection fails and says:
The test connection operation failed for data source Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Driver - XA DataSource on server server1 at node TP-AHMEDSW7Node01 with the following exception: java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.6 is not supported by this driver. Use the sqljdbc4.jar class library, which provides support for JDBC 4.0..
I've seen in the other threads suggesting to use the sqljdbc_1.2, but that version is no longer available.
Any workaround for this?

I have had the same problem (or similar one):
In my case I had a sqljdbc.jar in the class path and it was used instead of sqljdbc4.jar
I removed this jar and everything was ok
