I was trying out to perform a kind of conversion(masking) in optim. In this process, the objective is to mask a field in the following steps:
1. Alphabets in the field should be replaced with anyother alphabets.
2. Numbers to be replaced with any other number.
3. Special character to be replaced with any other Special character.
For example if the data in my field is "$$@ I know 12345". This should be masked(converted)to something like "%#& h idls 58293". Here, the alphabets are replaced by some other alphabets and same with numbers & special characters.
I want to implement this. Can anyone help me with approach(logic) which involves minimum no. of steps to acheive the result.
Thanks in Advance :)

Thats right. But I dont think TRANS COL could mask the special characters as stated in my main post.
It would be helpful if any logic/fuctions to build this could be provided using simple functions.
I am also trying this out.. will post once I get this.
It would be great if you could help.
