Pinned topic DS4300- Uncertified drive

‏2013-03-13T07:54:18Z |
Have one HotSpare disk showing Staus "Failed", in "Recover from Failures" says "Uncertified Drive"
can access properties, says:
Speed:  10000 RPM
Current data rate:  2 Gbps
Product ID:  HUS103030FLF21
Firmware version:  JFQ8
Serial number:  VAXB50RA
Vendor:  IBM-SSG
Date of manufacture:  14. Dezember 2007

and that is the same Product and Firmware as a working one:
Speed:  10000 RPM
Current data rate:  2 Gbps
Product ID:  HUS103030FLF21
Firmware version:  JFQ8
Serial number:  VAWYG4TA
Vendor:  IBM-SSG
Date of manufacture:  25. Juni 2007

This is a Used Drive- could it be possible that some data left from last usage blocks the controller somehow?
How can I reset the config of the drive?

Did you replace this drive recently? What version of code are you running?

    Hello,
    Firmware: 6.60.34.00
yes, I had some bad harddrives and got refurbished one's - the one that's failing.
Is it possible that the disk needs resetting, maybe it was used in a config that my system does not recognise and wil not overwrite?
