1> Adapter logs always show masked value for erPassword of 8 characters:
Even if we don't set any value to the erPassword while submitting request from ISIM (Tried passwords of 8 char/all special characters/no password at all)
2> Insert statement in adapter log "INSERT ACF2TS03 NAME(ACF2TS03) PASSWORD(?)", has only single character password (single ? mark instead of a series of 8 question marks, my assumption maybe wrong here).
I am wondering how ACF2 adapter is receiving 8 character password value even though its blank or 2 characters long only.
If erPassword is 8 characters long, Why it's trying to insert password of length 1.
Will appreciate any help/pointer.

Re: ISIM CA ACF2 Adapter - Account add failed due to password issue2013-03-11T19:32:43Z in response to vaibhavdhoteHave you tried simply correcting the problem mentioned in the log? That is, using a national character (@#$) in the password? That might be the only problem: that your password does not meet the ACF2 specified password rules. I suggest you try a quality password with numbers and national characters. Something like “A1W$M@7F” and see if you achieve success.
As for the eight asterisks in the log, that is nothing to be concerned about. Later versions of the ADK have been changed to always print eight asterisks so that the length of the value is not revealed.

I have tried almost all possible combinations for the password:
- All Alphabetic / All Numeric / All special characters / Alpha-Numeric / Blank password / 2 character password / Alpha-Numeric + Special character
In all of the above cases adapter is throwing the same exception, "ACF00133 NEW PASSWORD MUST HAVE A NATIONAL OR USER-DEFINED CHARACTER".
Thanks for the clarification on number of asterisks in password field.
Can encoding standard might be an issue ?

I am not sure if this conversion is causing some abrupt characters in the password field.

Thanks for the responses.
ISIM was overriding the password(supplied through PP and UI) for ACF2 account add requests, making it incompatible with the target password policy. Overriding the already overridden password in WorkFlow before calling the Add Extension resolved the problem.
Didn't get a chance to look into, as why ISIM was overriding the password.
