Pinned topic Masking Full name

‏2013-03-08T14:57:35Z |
I have 3 different tables which need to be masked, 2 tables has first name, last name, full name columns and 1 table has full name. I can used Hash lookup to mask first name, last name, full name but full name does not matches with first and last name.

When I change the sourceSearchCol to be either lastname or fullname but my masked data is not consistent across other tables.

Can I use Hash_lookup function to choose only 6 characters of the sourceSearchCol or
Eg: HASH_LOOKUP('SUBSTR(FULLNAME, 1, 6)…….

Any suggestions?

Those names should have unique ids first.
So just create a temp table with id, name, surname and fullname columns. Fill id properly but name and surname randomly. Then run a script to merge name and surname into fullname and update your temp table.
Now you can use this temp table for all your tables contains name, surname or fullname with id columns..
