Pinned topic IBM Storage Management Console for vCenter & Flex Storwize v7000 6.4.1.2

‏2013-03-08T11:18:21Z |
Not sure if this should be in this forum or the PureFlex forum..

I have an internal Storwize v7000 in my Flex Chassis running 6.4.1.2

I've installed v3.1.1 of the Storage Management console onto my v5.0u2 vCenter. When I attempt to register the v7000 using username and password credentials it comes up with: "This is not a Storwize V7000 system"! and won't add the storage.

The account has the same access as the superuser account (i've tried that account too)

Is v3.1.1 of the plugin compatible with 6.4.1.2 of the Storwize firmware (it says it should work with 6.4) or is it related to the internal Storwize being new on the scene? Or am I being stupid? (other than checking that it really is a V7000 :-) )

Does anyone have any ideas / similar experiences?

many thanks

Sorry - I meant v3.1.0 of the vcenter plugin, 3.1.1 is only for XIV I think?

Have you tried selecting "Flex V7000" in the drop-down list?
V7000 in PureFlex is not considered a Storwize V7000 but a Flex System V7000.

Hi thanks for your reply but in the drop down list all I have to select from are:

    SONAS
    Storwize V7000
    Storwize V7000 Unified
    SVC
    XIV

I don't have Flex V7000 iu the list - should it be!?

    thanks

According to the release notes it seems that support for Flex System V7000 was added in v3.2.0.

Ah excellent thank you, I made the mistake of not realising that the Internal Storwize for the Flex was named Flex Storwize rather than Storwize V7000 such when searching for fixes. (Doh!)

thanks for your help - all sorted and working :-)
