We don't support MacOs for the Eclipse tools. You appear to have run into Java problems because some of the things we do requires an IBM Java, which is not available on Mac.

Are there any plans to support the Mac community? I like to do the work from my own workstation.
    Thx.

It may work if you add HADOOP_OPTS="-Djava.security.krb5.realm= -Djava.security.krb5.kdc=" as env. variable in Eclipse.

For your project in Eclipse under Run -> "Run Configurations..." -> Environment, add:

    Name: HADOOP_OPTS

    Value: -Djava.security.krb5.realm= -Djava.security.krb5.kdc=

Secondly, I've noticed the hostname where BigInsights runs needs to be resolved, so add the mapping in /etc/hosts on the client.

And finally, make sure the OS X user exists in BigInsights too. Could be that it works without this part, by configuring proxy users in BI, but not for me..

    Hope it helps.
