A third party software product behaves differently when using the 'top' command in 6.1 TL6 vs. TL7. Perhaps it is the invocation or environment, or it is the command itself. In TL7 it works fine. In TL6 it does not work (perhaps the 'top' command fails or it returns a result that is not formatted as expected). Another customer with 6.1 TL5 has no problems under the same third party software. Possibly, then, it is only TL6 that may be different in some way. Has anyone an explanation for the difference in results between TL5, TL6 and TL7 in the execution of 'top' ?
Thank you, Peter

Re: Is 'top' command different between 6.1 TL6 and 6.1 TL7?2013-03-04T18:20:26Z in response to SystemAdminI received an answer from another source; that the 'top' command is a vendor replacement for the existing top command, that it is compiled during install and that the TL7 version system kernal data structures used by this replacement are different than in other levels.
