Hello Everyone,

Hope your day is going well. Could use your help with a pesky challenge:

The Challenge:
Opening a Terminal in IVM immediately dissappears for a newly created LPAR

Server:
P5 9110-51A, 32gb RAM 100GB HD
$ ioslevel
2.2.2.1
Clients:
RHEL 6.3 Workstation
Firefox - firefox-17.0.2-3.el6_3.x86_64
Opera - opera-12.14-1738.x86_64
Google-Chrome - google-chrome-stable-25.0.1364.97-183676.x86_64
java-1.6.0-ibm-1.6.0.12.0-1jpp.1.el6_3.x86_64
java-1.6.0-ibm-plugin-1.6.0.12.0-1jpp.1.el6_3.x86_64

Nothing helpful in /var/log/messages

    I'd recommend calling support and opening a ticket.

    In the meantime, you can get a console via the command line. Telnet or SSH into the VIOS using a client of your choice (Putty works well on Windows) and run:

    mkvt -id X

    Where 'X' is the partition ID of the partition to which you want to connect. You can exit out with the '~.' keys, or by running 'rmvt -id X' from another SSH session.
