I am new to IBM Hardware. I recently purchased the IBM Storage 3500 San with Sas connection. I configured with Raid 5 with 8 drives which I set up as a single Array. I would like to purchase 2 more drives to add to the array. Is this a simple task? Will my host see this additional storage automatically or will I need to configures that as well.

Re: Adding Drives to Storage 35002013-03-01T10:01:34Z in response to SystemAdminI recently added drives to my DS3524, it was a very simple procedure.
I plugged in the drives, then rightclicked the array in the storage manager and selected Add Free Capacity (Drives) and followed the guide.
The interesting part is extending the LUN (if that's what you want to do). If you want to create a new LUN it's no problem.
If you want to extend the existing LUN, there are certain limitations, but you will see this if you try to Increase Capacity in the Storage Manager.
