Pinned topic ITCAM MS - How to move installation folder to other driver?

‏2013-02-25T08:47:24Z |
Hi,

As I setup ITCAM MS and ITM on driver C:, this causes little disk space left on driver C when the folder size increasing. So I'd have to move the installation path of ITCAM MS and ITM from C: to D: to relase disk space, without destroying the configuration and data.

So here comes the questions:
1. For MS,
The data and logs are stored in which folders?
How to move MS home path from C: to D:?
If it needs re-install again on D:, how to import those data?

2. For ITM,
The data and logs are stored in which folders?
How to move MS home path from C: to D:?
If it needs re-install again on D:, how to import those data?
ITCAM MS home path:
C:\Program Files\ibm\itcam\WebSphere\MS (non increasing in size)

ITCAM log path:
C:\Program Files\ibm\tivoli\common (increasing in size)

ITM home path:
C:\IBM\ITM (increasing in size)

Thanks!

There are no documented/supported ways to move the installation directories.

The safest thing for you to do is move the directories for the agent logs to eliminate that use of space.  Then you can change the size and number of logs up or down, depending on what your needs are for these logs.

This example produces a large number of large logs

KBB_RAS1_LOG is used to the size and number of log files.
Set this value in the agent <install path>\TMAITM6\KxxENV file
    COUNT=05 LIMIT=10 PRESERVE=1 MAXFILES=9

MAXFILES: the total number of files that are to be kept for all startups of a given program. After this value is exceeded, the oldest log files are discarded. Default value is LIMIT: the maximum size, in megabytes (MB) of a RAS1 log file. Default value is 5.
COUNT: the number of log files to keep in the rolling cycle of one program startup. Default is 3.
PRESERVE: the number of files that are not to be reused in the rolling cycle of one program startup. Default value is 1.

      When reinstalling ITM

TEPS: Back up the TEPS database and then reinstall the TEPS application on a different host/drive. The TEPS database contains all of the workspace and navigator customizations,

The migrate-export script creates a file called saveexport.sql ... the saveexport.sql file is a full backup of the TEPS database,

TEMS: install a new TEMS and make it standby and sync it with old TEMS. When this is done, turn off the syncing

Agents: the data for the agents is stored in the ITM database except the last 8 (by default) hours. If this is backed up the data is restored when you restore the database.

      Always start with a backup
