I have DS3400, which connected to BladeCenter through Brocade FC Switch modules. When I open logs, I noticed strange situation. Every 58 days, my storage resets.
Usually event sequence:
400F - Controller reset by its alternate
1706 - Optimal wide port becomes degraded (x2)
1707 - Degraded wide port becomes failed (x2)
2606 - Start-of-day routine begun
1017 - Fibre channel link down (x2)
120B - SFP changed to Optimal (x2)
1018 - Fibre channel link up (x2)
4010 - Controller reset
5400 - Premium feature enabled (x8)
2606 - Start-of-day routine completed
I can't understand, why it happens every two months, events occurred regardless batteries learning or another system events.
What is the reason?
Thank you, Vladislav.

You are currently running Firmware 07.35.53.00, the latest firmware level is Version 07.35.71.00
There are 3 reported fix's for "Controller Reset" related issues.
1. June 13, 2012 - Version 07.35.71.00
Fix LSIP200176536 (LSIP200174377) Watchdog resets are reported as Alternate controller resets in the FA log
2. August 24, 2010 - Version 07.35.57.00
(CR 157570) Running verify blocks command causes controller resets
(CR 167558) Target reset drives after alt controller reset
I would say your best option is to update the firmware on your DS3400 to resolve this issue, at the same time you will want to do your Hard Drive firmware levels as well.
NOTE: You will need to update storage manager first, please read release notes / recommendations for the firmware release.
Also note the following
1. Your cache batteries are due for replacement in 56 Days.
