Pinned topic Send Emails by DataPower

‏2013-02-21T05:32:48Z |
Hi,

I have a requirement for sending email by DataPower. I found a lot of threads on this, but i was not able to implement it. What all configurations do i need to do for this?

For Example,
Q1. Should i go for a "MPGW or WSP" for this? Which approach would be better?
Q2. What Request type would i fire from SoapUI to DataPower. Will the Request coming into DataPower be an email or something else?
Q3. What all processing policies should i go for in Client-Server and Vice Versa.

Note:- I just need to send a plain text email. Once i successfully implement this, then i would go for an email with an attachment.

Please help me on this.

Any service can execute a stylesheet sending email by <dp:url-open target="smtp:..." ...>

something else -- DataPower cannot process emails directly. Just send eg. a XML file, extract the information of interest and send email.

just reduce smtp.xsl from below to a simple <dp:url-open ..>.

This blog posting shows how to send email with attachment -- that is not possible out-of-the-box:
