Which raid controller do you have ? scsi or sas/sata based ?
configuration stored in Hard disk as well as in the NVRAM of the Raid controller, so after replacing raid controller
raid configuration will be copied from hard disk to NVRAM of the new raid controller on a next boot.
But before replacing makesure all the hdd are in online state, please do not change any hdd slot.

For a best practice always keep data backup before replacing raid controller.
