Pinned topic Portal 8 and Dojo 1.7 AMD (Asynchronous Module Definition)

‏2013-02-15T00:41:04Z |
Has anyone on this forum try to use Dojo 1.7 AMD on Portal 8.0?
If so, what approach was used? Are there any best practices or issues to consider?

Ok so here is the deal.
First best practice is to use dojo that portal loads.
As of now it does now support AMD.
Of course you can create your own custom theme, using profiles load ur version of dojo that does AMD.
But ideally the theme should load the dojo rather thanportlets bringing in their own.

The Dojo 1.7 shipped with Portal 8.0 will support AMD, but like you said, if we enable AMD in our custom Theme I suppose IBM would not support us as we are no using OOB functionality.

    Thank you Jasi.
