Pinned topic mmbackup / illreplication,illplacement

this is on 3.5.0.7

mmbackup fails due to mmapplypolicy reporting

[I] Because some data is illplaced or illreplicated, predicted pool utilization may be negative and/or misleading!
mmapplypolicy: Command failed. Examine previous error messages to determine cause.

I have successfully run a mmrestripefs -p/-r on the fs in question, but no success
so far. The fs has this policy set:

RULE
'ds35x10' SET POOL
'ds35x10' LIMIT(99) RULE
'ds3400' SET POOL
'system'

where "system" has dataOnly and metaDataonly disks.

thanks.

There should be some other messages. The [I] message is "informational". That condition does not cause the command to fail.

If mmbackup is failing, and the default level of message content is not sufficient to explain what happens, please set the following variables prior to running mmbackup and much more information about the failure should be displayed:

export DEBUGmmbackup=2 # This will preserve the /gpfs/.mmbackupCfg dir and all temp files
export MMBACKUP_PROGRESS_CONTENT=7 This will provided all mmbackup step-by-step progress reporting
export MMBACKUP_PROGRESS_INTERVAL=10 This will provide 10-second interval progress reporting on number of files backed up / expired

If the failure is still not obvious you can further increase the debugging to the line-by-line level of verbosity with
    export DEBUGmmbackup=3
alternatively you can add "-d" and "-v" to the command line.

hmpf. now with all these envs set, mmbackup just runs fine. This incremental run has at least 2 weeks
of work to do, though - I'll keep you updated then.
