Pinned topic Catalog Service Domain in WebSphere ND 6.1 Console

‏2013-02-13T12:51:42Z |
Hi,

I have now got the 8.5.0.3 client installed and augmented into the server instances that are part of our WebSphere ND 6.1 environment. When I look at the servers in the console I can see that they say they are on 6.1.0.45 of WAS and 8.5.03 of WXS. However what I don't see is the option on the WAS console in the system administration section that shows me WebSphere Extreme Scale and then underneath has the catalog service domain, where I can define the location of the catalogue servers.

I have removed the full version of 7.1 of WXS that had been installed on the environment running the ND manager. So now there is nothing from a WXS point of view installed on there, which is perhaps the problem. But given the WAS servers now just have the client augmented in will the client be enough on the ND manager to then display this option or am I meant to install the full version of WXS onto the ND environment where the console runs?

Thanks Bleddyn

Thanks for answering Bleddyn's question Bleddyn :)

Also, I'm glad to see you successfully moved up to 8.5.0.3, I know you were working through some update issues.

The client only feature allows you to connect to the grid so it gives you the wsogclient.jar in your lib directory to do that, but there should be the catalog service domain still shown there. The server feature installs wsobjectgrid.jar and allows you to create catalog and container servers under the servers tab, and define catalog service domains in the WebSphere admin console.
