Having trouble dynamically installing the SVC for CICS 5.1 Trial.
The correct libraries are APFed / LINKLISTed & SVCPARM correctly specified (not changed from previous version). Module has been loaded via SET LPA, as advised in JCL comments.
SMPe apply had no issues when APPLYing (LKED) the module from install datasets.
Yet Program DFHCSVCU issues DFHCS0006 when trying to install the SVC.

Is the SVC type correct for SVC 216? it ought to be 3 and the specification should be something along...
Message DFHCS0006 is issued when the SVC being used is not a type 3 or type 4.
You need to look at your SVC definition in sys1.parmlib and either correct it or select another SVC.

Thanks for the update.
We have exactly that SVCPARM. In fact, that is the previous 4.2 definition, which I believe has not changed between versions.
We have used a third party product to load the SVC. The SVC "type" in that product shows as 34 (I'd assume that actually means Type 3/4). Not sure if that makes a difference to DFHCSVCU being able to load it? We did nothing more to get the 3rd party product to "force" the load.
I will continue on with the installation but I get the feeling the issue lies in the loader program DFHCSVCU. A colleague also attempted to run the loader (who has previously installed CICS 4.2 & the 5.1 BETA) and had used this dynamic method previously to load the SVC (and so it is unlikely to be an RACF/authorisation issue).
I will also see if I can restart the testing z/OS system to see if it loads OK during an IPL.

DFHCSVCU only works if the SVC is already in place and will only REPLACE the existing SVC, not "add new".
