Pinned topic Restrict Previous Years Document Access

‏2013-02-06T19:35:56Z |
Good Afternoon,

I would like to restrict access of previous years documents to all the users except for Super User in IBM Content Management System 8.4.3
.
Can some one provide me details of how to do this?

Thanks, Ramesh

Assuming that you are doing Item Level ACL checking.

I would create a new ACL for these aged documents. Using the API, I would change each of those aged documents ACL to be the new aged ACL. This is the API I would use: Assigning an ACL to an item: Java

Thank you for your reply. Since I've only a few documents(less than 15) I would like to do it through CM Administering rather than programatically.

Do you have any idea how to implement it through CM Administering?

      Thanks, Ramesh

Yes, I'm doing to the ITEM LEVEL ACL and then updated those specific documents to NOAccessACL.

I expected the NoAccessACL documents to be invisible and the rest of the documents to be accessible to the users.

But somehow none of them are visible for the user. Not sure what is wrong here. Any Help would be appreciated.

With so few documents - you could create a new Item Type that only the required users have access to. Then use a client (Content Navigator, eClient, Client for Windows...) and move the few documents to this new item type
