Pinned topic What servers and ports provide SOA sandbox sessions?

‏2013-02-06T19:32:19Z |
Hello,

I have been trying to connect to an SOA sandbox session via the web interface, and my browser (both Firefox and IE) cannot connect to the server. The most recent URL is:

http://204.90.115.174:10187/Citrix/MetaFrame/default/login.aspx

I believe this is a firewall issue. The entries in the FAQ deal with error messages in the Citrix application, but I can't even establish a connection that would start a Citrix window.

Could I get a listing of the servers and ports that may provide sandbox sessions? I've seen that the IP and port change with each new session (same first three octets and generally port 10000-10200). I want to make sure I can connect to the sessions, without making overly-broad exceptions in the firewall.

Thanks,
Kevin

    Hi, Kevin,
Yes, that's probably firewall issue. Because limited IP address available, we need to use port forwarding. From the URL http://204.90.115.174:10187/Citrix/MetaFrame/default/login.aspx, you could tell the servers number is 187 (10187 - 10000), but you still need open another port for citrix , it is 5187 ( 5000 + 187 ). Then you probably know the range is (10001 - 10230 and 5001 - 5230)
By the way for citrix receiver for window , We have just recently been made aware of a performance issue with the new Citrix 3.4 receiver. The older 3.3 receive is working fine. You can download the 3.3 receiver here: http://www.citrix.com/downloads/citrix-receiver/legacy-client-software/receiver-for-windows-33.html
Let us know if you still have any connection issue, we could arrange special server for you.
    Regards,
    Chien

Thanks for providing the port ranges; I've been able to connect to the trial sessions. I've noticed that the server IPs change as well (204.90.115.174 and .175, others referenced in past forum posts) but my network admins can add exceptions for the IPs as needed.

Also thanks for pointing me to version 3.3 of the Citrix software, which fixed the nearly-unusable response times once I was able to connect.
