Pinned topic Type manager text_file_delta failed create_version operation

‏2013-02-05T13:20:54Z |
Hi,
with ClearCase 2003.06.10 I have problems adding to source control some files containing 0x00. The error I get is "Type manager text_file_delta failed create_version operation".

Since we are close to migrate to CCase 8, do you know if this has been fixed?

Thanks
michele

The problem is likely to be a wrong element type.
    ct des -fmt "%[type]p\n" xxx

Depending on the type, you have to pick another, suitable one.
Then, you should investigate how the type was picked (default magic, or bad overriding), and fix this.

    Thanks!
I tried the following command and it works:
    "chtype compressed_file file_name"

since I have a lot of files but with only two extensions (*.js, *.info), do you suggest to write a script or is it possibile to associate those extension automatically to compressed_file type?
    ciao

Both. The script will affect existing elements, the association (in a 'magic' file or directory) will affect new ones.
