Just curious if Cognos 8.4.1 or Cognos 10.2 supports Syslog file as the data source ?
I am interesting in fetching the logs from a file which is in Syslog format and render it in Cognos report.
Syslog is a standard for computer data logging, more information of the same is available in the link below:
Any input in context of the same will be helpful.

Re: Cognos using Syslog file as datasource2013-02-05T13:10:34ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer. Both IBM Cognos 8.4.1 and IBM Cognos 10.2 support the use of the Microsoft Text ODBC driver on a windows platform. If the file is recognizable to this driver in the form of columns, row and locking you should be able to report off it as you would any other data source.
If it is not in a recognizable or you are on a UNIX platfrom you may need to do some ETL work to get it into a physical database.
