Pinned topic How to enable logging for HTTP adapter

‏2013-02-04T17:27:11Z |
Hi, I'm having an issue with an HTTP adapter I'm writing, and would like to enable trace to help with diagnosis.

I found the following: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/wrklight/v5r0m5/topic/com.ibm.worklight.help.doc/admin/r_logging_and_monitoring_mechanisms.html

But despite reading and re-reading, I can't work out which file I need to modify to enable logging for the Worklight server embedded within my Worklight Studio Eclipse shell.

Ideally can you answer for both Windows and Mac, and update the docs!

Thank you.

    You need to open: your-project\your-app\server\conf\development.logging.properties, and uncomment the following lines:
    com.worklight.level = FINE
    java.util.logging.FileHandler.level = FINE

    Now, when using WL.Logger.debug for example, this should be outputted to the Worklight console view in Eclipse.
    Please see if this helps you. Note that this might also output a lot of other information as well... be sure to mark your debug messages with some identifiers, such as lots of asterisk characters.

    The above holds true for both Mac and Windows.
