Pinned topic Help-External PERL script to move values of one radio button field

‏2013-01-30T12:45:24Z |
Hi,

I am working in IBM clearquest project,recently i come with requirement to write external PERL script.

I have one radio button field say priority in my schema(having 3 options values suppose A,B,C).

now i have added new option(D) in the field priority but options value button c is no more in use,so i want to move all C value to D value for the field priority.

for this i am writing a external PERL script to move value directly(from C to D) after running external perl script for that database.

Please send response ASAP

thanks,
P G

    It sounds like you are saying that for every single record that has the value of C you want to change it to D then skip the perl script.

    Create a query to get the records that have a value of C
    then either do a mass Modify to change all C to D for those records

    Or (while no one is using CQ)
    export the ID and field in question for those records
    bring up the resulting text file in notepad
    do a find and replace to change C to D
    import the updated records
