Pinned topic Issue with Big Insights 2.0 installation on SLES11

Hi Experts,

Our customer is trying to install Big Insights 2.0 on SLES11 on 4 VMs (1 namenode, 3 datanodes)

The installer is crashing with the following messages :

ERROR @yval0910.inetpsa.com - yval0900.inetpsa.com >> 9001 : bad
ERROR @yval0910.inetpsa.com - yval0900.inetpsa.com >> 9000 : bad
ERROR @yval0920.inetpsa.com - yval0900.inetpsa.com >> 50000 : bad
ERROR @yval0910.inetpsa.com - yval0900.inetpsa.com >> 50000 : bad
ERROR @yval0930.inetpsa.com - yval0900.inetpsa.com >> 50000 : bad
ERROR PriorChecker - Internal connectivity Check - failed on yval0900.inetpsa.com
ERROR PriorChecker - 255 -- com.ibm.xap.mgmt.ConfigurationException: yval0900.inetpsa.com,yval0930.inetpsa.com,yval0920.inetpsa.com,yval0910.inetpsa.com can not access to yval0900.inetpsa.com:9001, the port maybe blocked by iptables or firewall

No firewall used and installation run with root user.

    Hi,

    Please attach the following and we will review:

    A) fullinstall.xml

    B) install-*.log (ex: install_2011-12-05T06.59.02.871_PST.log)

    Note: All of these files will be located in the directory where you untarred the installation tarball.

    Please attach the following and we will review:

    A) fullinstall.xml

    B) install-*.log (ex: install_2011-12-05T06.59.02.871_PST.log)

    Note: All of these files will be located in the directory where you untarred the installation tarball.

    Can you shutdown iptables on every node ?

    But no effect.

    Maybe a network problem :

    From the customer :

    Is multicast is mandatory ? customer network is unicast ?

    I'm not sure if the port check is doing too much here. I suggest you run
    ./installer/bin/enableOrDisablePrecheck.sh disable port.connectivity
    to disable this pre-check, continue the install. Please update the subsequential results after you turn that check off.

    Thank you very much for your post. We could continue our install after execute :
    ./installer/bin/enableOrDisablePrechecker.sh disable port.connectivity
    But it was not enough, we has also to modify :
    • /etc/profile (we have local inputs in this file)
    • ./installer/bin/install.sh : we had to modify $newinstaller path, it wrote in /__biginsights_install (origin of the problem was use of bad call in ldap with getent)
