I have a report which displays 15 columns. In addition to this we need to display one more column in the report which would display the rownum of the each line of report.I searched the function list of Cognos 7.5 but couldn't find the similar function.Using the rownum in the oracle database view is hitting the report performance drastically.
Can anyone please tell me what would be the workaround for this ?

Re: How to display rownum in Cognos Impromptu report2013-03-14T23:15:50Z in response to SystemAdminWhile your report is open in Impromptu, go to the menu option "Insert\More Objects..." and choose "Row Numbers". That will allow you to insert that field wherever you want it to be located. Once you have dropped it as a column, you can click the field to highlight it and then drag the right field-sizer-box to widen the field for better readability.
After you have inserted that field once, it will always show in the "Insert" menu automagically.
