Pinned topic zOSScanner install

Hi all,
I am attempting to install the zOS Scanner components via ftp as the documentation instructs. However, I receive a ftp error of 425:

After getting this error I attempted to FTP into the zOS environment (RDzUT) via filezilla and was able to ftp a dataset no problem. So ive reached the conclusion that my RDzUT instance is configured to receive FTP. I would just do this manually but it seams the upload.bat file is doing a fair amount of work and cant follow everything thats going on.

In summary:
1. My HFS directory is created
2. My upload of zOS Scan components (temporary data sets) fail
3. I can FTP to the RDzUT instance through a FTP client

    I also had some trouble executing the upload.bat so finally I did it manually.

    1- upload the files dmhhfs.tar(bin) and dmhuntar.scr(ascii)to /usr/lpp/dmh/zosscan/
    2- Change permissions
    chmod 755 usr/lpp/dmh/zosscan/dmhhfs.tar
    chmod 755 usr/lpp/dmh/zosscan/dmhuntar.scr

    3- Preallocate zOS files for the ftp command
    For the zOS files I allocated in mainframe the files for the **.BIN with the
    RECFM=FB LRECL=80 BLKSIZE=3120 and give it a size in TRACKS with 10 as PRIMARY and 20 as SECONDARY
    I had 9 files with this mask RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.SDMHxxxx.BIN
    Next I upload the 9 files from C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational Asset Analyzer\install\zosscan\files
    SDMHCNTL.bin
    SDMHDATA.bin
    SDMHDBRM.bin
    SDMHLOAD.bin
    SDMHMLIB.bin
    SDMHPLIB.bin
    SDMHREXX.bin
    SDMHSIMP.bin
    SDMHSLIB.bin
    into its corresponding RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.SDMHxxxx.BIN

    4- Receive the TSO files and run the dmhuntar.scr
    I created a jcl in the host for running the RECEIVE command against every RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.SDMHxxxx.BIN file
    and a second step for running the dmhuntar.scr

    //DMHRECE JOB ,'Receive datasets',MSGCLASS=H,MSGLEVEL=(1,1),
    // NOTIFY=&SYSUID.,CLASS=A
    //***************************************************************
    //* Update the JOB card anything else necessary for your system
    //***************************************************************
    //RUN EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01,DYNAMNBR=40
    //SYSTSPRT DD SYSOUT=*
    //SYSTSIN DD *
    RECEIVE INDSN('RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.TEMP.SDMHCNTL.BIN')
    DATASET('RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.SDMHCNTL')
    RECEIVE INDSN('RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.TEMP.SDMHDATA.BIN')
    DATASET('RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.SDMHDATA')
    RECEIVE INDSN('RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.TEMP.SDMHDBRM.BIN')
    DATASET('RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.SDMHDBRM')
    ......
    /*
    //***************************************************************
    //* Expand the tar file in the home directory.
    //***************************************************************
    //UNTAR EXEC PGM=BPXBATCH,
    // PARM='sh /usr/lpp/dmh/zosscan/dmhuntar.scr'

    5- Submit the jcl
    Now I have the 9 files like RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.SDMHxxxx
    and the dmhhfs.tar has been untared
    6- Delete the RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.SDMHxxxx.BIN
    and the two USS files dmhhfs.tar and dmhhuntar.scr

    7- Configure RAA
    I executed the Clist DMHMINI under RAFAEL.DMH.ZOSSCAN.SDMHREXX and set the values for my installation.

    David, it sounds as if you might not have ftp set up completely correctly for RDzUT, though the exact cause isn't obvious from your post(and I'm afraid I'm not a RDzUT expert). You may wish to review Volume 2 of the zPDT Installation and Basic Use guide, specifically the five scenarios in section 3.3 to see if there's anything that still needs to be done on your system.

    Thanks,

    I was actually able to perform a work around by manually ftp'ing the assets
