Pinned topic BRMS Omits

‏2013-01-21T19:51:10Z |
I understand from the BRMS Manual that if you run a full system save with the *SYSTEM control group, that whatever you have specified in an omit list will be ignored.

Question: what if you make a copy of the *SYSTEM control group and use the copy for the full system save. Will it too ignore any omit lists? Wouldn't a copy of *SYSTEM be exactly the same as the *SYSTEM or is there something in *SYSTEM that IBM has included under the covers that users would not normally see?

Thanks for the help.

The *SYSTEM control group is a special case where the omits will be ignored, but if you use a copy of the *SYSTEM control group, then your omits will be honored. If you don't want the objects to be omitted from your control group, then you can issue the STRBKUBRM with the OMITS(*IGNORE)
