Pinned topic Error after migrating project code on a new machine

‏2013-01-18T20:27:31Z |
Hi

EGL tooling and version - RBD 8.0.1.4.
Target environment - Windows 7
Application type - Rich UI
Generation language - JavaScript.
Browser Tested - Chrome, Internet Explorer 8 with Google Chrome Frame.
Recently I have checked in the code from the CVS repository on my machine.

I have compared the code as well as workspace settings with my other machine and the new machine.

But when I try to debug the code on my new machine I always get some Java Script Error giving the message as below where as the debug runs perfectly fine on the new machine:

CRRUI1083E An error occurred while the click browser event was being handled.

On some screens I get the error that could not render UI.

Tasks done by me to configure my code are as below:
  • Created the database connection to be used in the application with same settings as new machine.
  • Check the project properties on the new machine to make it same as it was on old machine.
  • Check the EGL preferences on the new machine to make it same as it was on old machine.

But still I am not sure where I am going wrong that it gives me error when working on my new machine.

Request someone to help me in solving the issue.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!
Regards,
Vivek Sharma

    Hi VivekSharma57,

    Since I do not have your project and can't reproduce the issue you mentioned. So I have two questions for this problem:
    1>Did the two machines have the same RBD version(both of them are 8014?)?
    2>Did every browser you used to debug in the new machine throw the same error at the same code line?

    If you could post a simple project which could recreate the issue, that would be great.

    Anyway my suggestion is to do a full workspace clean, if you did not do this before, and try it again.

      Hi,

      When answering to your question:
      1. Yes. Both the machines have same RBD version
      2. Yes. I am getting the same error on all the browsers.

      Hi

      I tried to debug my code and found that the main area where the exception is thrown is as below:

      function destroyWidgetChildren( widget Widget in )
                      if(widget isa Box)
                              box Box = widget as Box;
                              utilNative.destroyWidgetChildren(box.body);
                              box.removeChildren();
                              return;
                      end
                      if(widget isa GridLayout)
                              gridLayout GridLayout = widget as GridLayout;
                              utilNative.destroyWidgetChildren(gridLayout.table);
                              gridLayout.removeChildren();
                              return;
                      end
                      utilNative.destroyWidgetChildren(widget);
              end

      When I come to point utilNative.destroyWidgetChildren, I get the exception.

      Request you to kindly help me out in the bug.

      Regards,
      Vivek Sharma
