I'm using IDA 8.5 with MySQL as the target database. Every time I enter a value over 255 in the length field for a VARCHAR column, the tool resets my entry to 255. MySQL supports VARCHAR up to 32K in length. Is there a way to change this limitation or work around it? This project is too complex for manual DDL editing.
Thanks in advance,

Re: Maximum length of VARCHAR is 255?2013-01-17T16:42:29Z in response to SystemAdminWhat's the version of your MySql? Prior to version 5.0.3, the max length of varchar is 255.
We will provide a fix for 5.0.3 and later version in future release.
unfortunately, changing the limitation is not expose to user.
