Pinned topic Maximum length of VARCHAR is 255?

‏2013-01-17T16:03:57Z |
I'm using IDA 8.5 with MySQL as the target database. Every time I enter a value over 255 in the length field for a VARCHAR column, the tool resets my entry to 255. MySQL supports VARCHAR up to 32K in length. Is there a way to change this limitation or work around it? This project is too complex for manual DDL editing.

Thanks in advance,
Kelly

What's the version of your MySql? Prior to version 5.0.3, the max length of varchar is 255.
We will provide a fix for 5.0.3 and later version in future release.
unfortunately, changing the limitation is not expose to user.

    Thanks,

Oh, thank you so much!! (I'm happy to be a test case if you like.)

We're working with MySQL Enterprise 5.5.
