The error message Basis found in R3Trans log was:

We received the below error when we tried to check registry variables:

n102lp02:db2gmp 13> db2set
DBI1306N The instance profile is not defined.
Explanation:
The instance is not defined in the target machine registry.
User response:
Specify an existing instance name or create the required instance.

n102lp02:db2gmp 14> db2set -all
[e] DB2CHKPTR=OFF
[e] DB2CODEPAGE=819
[e] DB2COMM=TCPIP
[e] DB2COUNTRY=1
[e] DB2DBDFT=GMP
[g] DB2SYSTEM=n102lp02
[g] DB2INSTDEF=db2gmp

we fixed it by setting the DB2_WORKLOAD=SAP and finally Updating the instance using “db2iupdt –k db2gmp” command resolved the issue.

Any idea how the registry variable DB2_WORKLOAD=SAP was lost.
