I am writing an OPL based book that is a companion to this book http://amzn.to/V8v9C9, and our material will be used in a Kellog Business School course in a few weeks,
One area that has come up is the need to read the equivalent of CPXgetmipobjval and CPXgetbestobjval with OPL. That is to say, the total cost of the best integer solution, and the bound on the best possible solution. The latter is particularly important for testing, in my opinion. But, when working with the API, I always prefer to capture both.
Without capturing these parameters, maintaining a test suite becomes rather difficult unless one solves every data set to near optimality. For industrial data, that just isn't realistic.
