‏2013-01-15T12:53:40Z |
Hello,

We're running RDZ 8.5.1. When i try SOURCE - identify unreachable code i get following error.

CRRJZ0005E An unexpected error was found while analyzing the program for unreachable code.

Has anyone had this error ? Anyone experience with identify unreachable code ?

Thanks,
Johan Bruyneel

I have not gone thru that error, but have you check if the COBOL program is syntactically correct?

    Hello,
If you use RDz v8.5.0.x then both the Program Control Flow and Identify unreachable code features will work properly.

Unfortunately two bugs were introduced in RDz v8.5.1 which affect the following features:
Show in > Program Control Flow
    Source > Identify unreachable code

    Issue #1:
In Rational Developer for System z (RDz) version 8.5.1, running a Show in > Program Control Flow or a Source > Identify unreachable code results in error dialog. This is due to the presence of ACCEPT statements within the COBOL source. Commenting the statements out may be a temporary work around but could lead to issue #2.

    Issue #2:
In Rational Developer for System z (RDz) version 8.5.1, paragraphs called by a PERFORM statement within the WHEN or WHEN OTHER phrases may be omitted from Program Control Flow diagrams or marked as unreachable code.

Until we can make a fix generally available, another option is to contact IBM Support and reference APAR PM80673.
