Using "topasrec -C -o xxx -s 60 -c 5" to collect data for the entire CEC,
then "topasout -a" to reformat to use as input for the topas CEC Analyser spreadsheet.
The last stage fails with a "Text extends beyond worksheet" message, as the Excel 256 column limit is exceeded in the DISKBUSY, DISKREAD, DISKWRITE, DISKXFER, and DISKWAIT lines within the CSV file.
The number of vhosts for our production VIO servers create over 350 entries for those lines.
Are there any updates to topasout, and possibly the topas CEC analyser spreadsheet, to handle the Excel 256 column limit restriction?
AIX 6.1 TL7 SP5

Re: "Text extends beyond worksheet" msg in toaps CEC Analyser2013-01-20T02:41:26Z in response to SystemAdminHi,
topasout is an AIX command.
You should use a PMR to ask this question.
I think this is a known limit and your machine is just too large for the format of the file.
It may require a Design Change Request to your local IBM rep. then wait for a new AIX TL.
- if they accept the design change.
The real problem is Excel perhaps you can do the whole world a favour and ask Microsoft to fix it - 256 hard coded in to Excel in the 21st century!
