Pinned topic Use of DOORS for Decisions Database?

‏2013-01-09T17:40:59Z |
I was just asked by a team member if I know of any case where DOORS has
been used as a decisions database. Does anyone know if this has been done?
Also, aren't there other tools better suited than DOORS?
Thanks,
Tara Wilk

Why would anyone want to, wouldn't this be a lot like keeping a Bentley just to run down to
corner 7-11 to get a pack of cigaretts?

However, we already own the Bentley for other purposes.

    Hello Tara,

well, in a recent project we used DOORS for requirements gathering. We captured statements given in interviews with the stakeholders plus following discussions and decisions.
Later these have been used to create a user requirements module with links from the user reqs to the corresponding statements. The advantage was that the origin of each requirement could be traced back to its real origin in one tool.

But I doubt whether this approach can be called a real decisions database...
