We are trying to install the CICS TS42 developer trial and getting
below error.
OS : z/OS 1.11

Error:
GIM69168E ** HFSCOPY PROCESSING TO THE SDFHH001 LIBRARY FAILED FOR HFS
DFHW2001 IN SYSMOD JCIC70D. THE RETURN CODE (12) EXCEEDED THE ALLOWABLE VALUE. DATE 12.335 - TIME 03:47:48 - SEQUENCE NUMBER

Hi Please can you tell me what job you were running when the error occurred? I can see it was doing some SMP/E work - was this during the Apply step? If I read it correctly it looks like it was trying to copy files in to the zfs / hfs can you check you have sufficient space in your zfs / hfs as lack of space in them tends to throw up strange errors.

    Thanks

      Hi Francis -

Lookslike i have enough space in zfS- please see below-

      Aggregate name:
      OMVSP.LPP.CICSTS42
      Mount point:
      /SERVICE/usr/lpp/cicsts/CICSTS42

      Available blocks . . . : 28132
      Blocks in use . . . . : 668
      Ignore SETUID . . . . : 0
      Bypass security . . . : 0
      Automove . . . . . . . : Unmount
      Owning system . . . . : SYSA
      Data blocks read . . . : 596
      Data blocks written . : 519
      Dir blocks r/w . . . . : 1152
I had an error with DFHDDDEF Step :DEFPATH earlier in the install

      CHANGE PATH('/usr/lpp/cicsts'*,
      '/SERVICE/usr/lpp/cicsts/CICSTS42'*) .
GIM26501W THE PATH SUBENTRY WAS NOT CHANGED OR ADDED IN ANY DDDEF ENTRIES.
      ENDZONEEDIT .
GIM20501I ZONEEDIT PROCESSING IS COMPLETE. THE HIGHEST RETURN CODE WAS 04.

I ignored that step and proceeded with apply and i got the error with copy as mentioned in earlier post.

I have set path for SDFHH001 as below-
      ADD DDDEF(SDFHH001)
      PATH('/SERVICE/usr/lpp/cicsts/CICSTS42').

      Thanks
      Radhik

          Hi Radhik

If I understand you correctly you either did not run the DFHISMKD installation job or you ran it and it had a bad return code is that correct? One thing to make sure of is that the the userid that is doing the instalation and running the DFHISMKD job has super user authority in the HFS / ZFS ie it has a UID of 0.

          Thanks

          Francis
