Pinned topic DB2 Express-C 10.1.2 on Windows 7 Enterprise installs but fails on reboot

‏2013-01-03T18:19:19Z |
I installed DB2 Express-C 10.1.2 on a Windows Enterprise machine. It installed successfully and I was even able to run db2val.exe and get a successful installation verification. However, when I rebooted the machine, I then got a blue screen that required repairing the machine. This is the second time I've tried it, with the same results: a crash on reboot so severe that I have to restore the machine to the pre-DB2-installation state. Has anyone seen anything like this?

The error is found below:

In case anyone else encounters this, the issue is that DB2 Express-C and Total Defense anti-malware don't work and play well together. As soon as the anti-malware is applied, the machine blue screens and removes it. So basically I can't use the two together.
