We have a websphere edge component which balance loads between two ibm http servers, we wanted to have session affinity so we have chosen affinity as port's selection algorithm and have set sticky timeout to 600 seconds, but when one of the http servers goes down, clients which are served by that http server can not access the service until sticky timeout expires. Service availability is vary important to us we want to know if there is any way so that when a server goes down clients which are served by that server can access other server before the sticky timeout expires?

If your problem is that it is not failing over, please make sure that the LPARs, instances, etc that host the HTTP Servers are setup correctly with the correct routing.
