We just purchased a new unit with dual controllers with 600GB 10k SAS drives. While looking around, I noticed the disk pool feature, which seems a bit more attractive over the traditional RAID setup. I'm curious, what is a recommended setup for something like VMware (BladeCenter) vSphere 5.0?
The disk pool concept is new to me, and while the documentation does a good job of explaining the feature, I want to see how some have used it in a real-world scenario. Any suggestions would be awesome!
Thank you in advance.

My convern is this uses RAID6 which I understand hurts write performance correct?
